The European Commission approves its use for the treatment of biliary dyskinesia related dyspepsia and catarrh of the airways. Traditionally also it used to facilitate removal of small urinary calculi and external use , for its rubefacient action , if alopecia.

Cholelithiasis.
Precautions
Although not described in the case of radish, it should be noted that some glucosinolates have an antithyroid , capable of inducing goiter action , hence patients who are with normalizing treatment of thyroid function should consult their physician before consuming extracts of black radish.
